After immersing ourselves in the vibrant and flavorful city of Osaka and savoring the historical and cultural treasures of Kyoto, we embarked on our journey to Tokyo, the bustling metropolis that beckons with its modern attractions and dynamic energy.

Day 7: Tokio, Japan

Trip to Yokahoma

Yokohama, a Japanese city south of Tokyo, was one of the first Japanese ports opened to foreign trade, in 1859. It contains a large Chinatown with hundreds of Chinese restaurants and shops. It’s also known for Sankei-en Garden, a botanical park containing preserved Japanese residences from different eras, and the seaside Minato Mirai district, site of the 296m Landmark Tower.

Gundam is an entertainment complex located at Yamashita Pier in Yokohama, Japan. Its main feature is a moving Gundam, an 18-metre tall pilot-operated “mech” from the Japanese animated franchise Gundam. It is the first moving mech of its type
Capybara Land PUIPUI is the Petting Zoo for Capybaras.
Sankeien Garden, a traditional Japanese-style garden in Naka Ward
Cup Noodle Museum, a museum dedicated to instant noodles and Cup Noodles, as well as its creator and founder, Momofuku Ando.

Trip to Ginza, a popular upscale shopping area of Tokyo (17 mins train from hotel)
– Art Aquarium Museum GINZA ticket at 14 May 2023 2:30pm [Pre-booked]
– Pedestrian paradise (12-5pm). Ginza Namiki-dori transforms into a pedestrian zone from noon to 5 pm (April to September) and noon to 4 pm (October to March). Take a leisurely stroll and soak in the ambiance.

Trip to Akiharaba,  the epicentre of modern Japanese otaku culture, and is a major shopping district for video games, anime, manga, electronics and computer-related goods. (9 mins train)
– Pedestrian paradise (1-6pm)
– Gyukatsu Ichi Ni San, Tonkatsu restaurant (  a Japanese dish that consists of a breaded, deep-fried pork cutlet )
– Retro video game stores, Anime shops, Maid Cafe ( a kind of cosplay-themed cafe in which the staff (typically women) are dressed up in maid outfits and serve customers).

Trip to the Skytree, a broadcasting and observation tower in Sumida, Tokyo.
(decide if we want to do this after we go to Shibuya Sky)
It has studio ghibli store, pokemon center at bottom (no entrance fee).

– Pick up at hotel at 8:30AM. Due to traffic they can be 30 minutes late

Mt Fuji and Hakone itinerary:

– Mt Fuji 5th station if weather permitted. Ascending Mount Fuji to the 5th Station, the highest point accessible to most visitors. Breathtaking views await, weather permitting. 2100 yen per group entrance fee
– Lake Kawaguchiko. Revel in the splendor of Lake Kawaguchiko, one of the Fuji Five Lakes.
– Kachi Kachi ropeway. Embark on a scenic ascent via the Kachi Kachi Ropeway, reveling in the panoramic views of Mount Fuji and the surrounding landscapes. 810 cable car fee per person (round trip)
– Move to Hakone, a picturesque region renowned for its rejuvenating hot springs, serene lakes, and breathtaking views of Mount Fuji.
– Hakone owakudani, a volcanic valley with active sulphur vents and hot springs in Hakone.
– Lake ashi pirate cruise. Embark on an adventurous pirate ship cruise across Lake Ashi, reveling in the breathtaking mountain vistas.
– Start moving back to Tokyo 4:00

– Arakurayama Sengen shrine pagoda. Crown your day with a visit to the Arakurayama Sengen Shrine Pagoda, where breathtaking views of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko await. No admission fee
– start moving back to Tokyo around 4:00
